About Bret

A Model For Growth

The Hero's Journey, first recognized by mythology expert Joseph Campbell, is a classic and timeless model for following one's personal path through change. The five stages of the Hero's Journey represent waking up from Conventional Slumber, following a Call to Adventure, accepting Discipline and Training, the Culmination of the Quest itself, and finally, the Return and Contribution back into community.

The Hero's Journey is a cycle which repeats itself countless times in our lives. It helps show us where youth are in the current cycle of change or growth, helping us to see where they are 'stuck' or what we need to do next. Imagine the Hero's Journey as a map to be followed during all adolescent changes in life.
